Tomatoes still life

I almost forgot.  I finished this coloured pencil piece earlier and think it has turned out fairly well.  It was great fun and made me realise I need to do more work on leaves.  They are not easy.  I started thus...
I then progressed to a near finish getting more and more into the leaves.
I am finally finished but am far from satisfied, so will continue with more projects with leaves.
The original photo by kayekcpaug of Wet Canvas is the reference below.  I do not follow slavishly the photo reference, it is my inspiration for an original piece.  I crop, then select the elements that appeal to me, removing and adding for composition´s sake.
Vegetables make excellent still life subjects and are readily available in your fridge drawer to make your own set up.

That looks really good. The shading is excellent and I love the addition of the less ripened tomatoes as well.

What a lovely soft feel you have achieved...much more appealing than the reference photo...but that is what art is all about isn't it!
